Most missing persons investigations we conduct, relate to locating a witness, a skip trace for a debtor, searching for a beneficiary of a will, or finding birth parents. Some missing person's inquiries relate to elder abuse, the 'abduction' of an older person by a family member, who goes on the seek a power of attorney, to induce them to change a will, or sells the family house. Sometimes a relative, or other person, takes control of the monies, and deposits the older person in a nursing home.
We have conducted Gold Coast missing person investigations many times, in these circumstances. Locating a person in a nursing home can be a time intensive endeavour.

It is unfortunate that the State has removed all authority for the parents to care for, or control, their teenagers, in these circumstances.
We can locate, record, and report, on the Gold Coast, but not interfere, as the Government has decided it has all authority, and little responsibility, except to financially support the child. Where the State has usurped parental authority our ability to assist is limited. The police have become reticent to take a missing person report, the missing person bureau is gone, they have criteria on their tablet, which will simply stop them assisting the community. They will not find long lost Uncle Harry, and tell him his sister has died, if someone else in the family already knows they are dead. The police are not there to provide a service to the community any more.
Missing persons investigations include foreign born children, young adult, who elect to break contact with their parents, their families. Many of these searches are to locate a person, who may be having mental issues, but not disturb them.
These are often surveillance investigations only. Many of these family members gravitate to the Gold Coast, to Qld, or the Northern Rivers of NSW.
